Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an after-school fight that involved as many as eight Lakewood High School students on Feb. 20.

Based on video of the incident, the eight students were fighting at the same time, in the same area — the student parking lot, Ken Bell, sheriff's office public information officer, said.

Investigators are working to find the cause of the fight, he said.

Charges could be filed as early as Tuesday, states a news release.

The students involved are at least 17 years old and could be charged as adults, Bell said.
