Sumter City Council to consider final reading for burn ordinance

Sumter City Council will meet at 1 p.m. today in City Council Chambers, fourth floor of Sumter Opera House, 21 N. Main St., to consider:
- Second and final reading of an ordinance to regulate open burning and refuse burning in the city;
- Final reading of an ordinance to amend the city's zoning and development standards ordinance to add elementary and secondary schools as conditional uses in the professional office, neighborhood commercial, limited commercial and general commercial zoning districts;
- A resolution to authorize a contract for the Memorial Park Meeting House Project; and
- A resolution to authorize a contract for the Hampton and Sumter Streets Resurfacing Project.
