KINGSTREE - Miss Louise Alsbrook Smunk and Mr. Kenneth Hunter Holladay were united in marriage at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at Williamsburg Presbyterian Church.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Louis Smunk of Kingstree, and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Junius Webster Swittenberg Jr. of Kingstree and the late Lt. Col. and Mrs. Louis Richard Smunk of Beaufort. She is a graduate of Williamsburg Academy and the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is pursuing a Doctorate as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of South Carolina. She is employed by McLeod Regional Hospital as a Pediatric ICU nurse.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Thomas Holladay, and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Archie Kenneth Holladay and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Brunson, all of Manning. He is a graduate of Laurence Manning Academy and Wofford College with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies. He is self-employed.

Escorted and given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a custom-designed Modern Trousseau gown with a re-embroidered bodice of French alencon lace. The gown featured a scalloped off-the-shoulder neckline, elbow-length sleeves and an Italian crepe skirt. The chapel-length train was complemented by a chapel-length veil with a scalloped French Chantily lace edge. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of ivory and blush garden roses, ranunculus and spray roses.

Margaret Jonte Reynolds served as matron of honor. Catharine Campbell Easterling and Julia Bradford Easterling, cousins of the bride, served as junior bridesmaids. Bridesmaids were Trudy Nettles Baker, Maggie Ruth Clifton, Kathryn Hutton Couch, Holly Diane Holladay, sister of the bridegroom, Caitlin Altman Jordan, Emily Baker Kellahan, Natalie Gibbons Lamb, Emily Evans Limehouse, Frances Louise McGill, Mary Lauren Reddeck and Danielle Easler Tindal. The flower girl was Anne Marshall Easterling, cousin of the bride.

The bridegroom's father served as best man. Groomsmen were Joshua James Boykin, Robert Michael Griffin Jr., Jack Edmund Joynson III, Kevin Harold Lamb, John Vinson MacDowell III, Clinton Bethea McDuffie, Charles Owen Nation III, Jonathan Marion Patrick, William Evan Reynolds, Eric Kyle Smith, William Lamon Wheeler and Carl Lloyd Yandle IV. The ring bearer was Edward Fuller Easterling, cousin of the bride.

Following a honeymoon in the Greek Isles, the couple will reside in Kingstree.
