Singers needed for 'Messiah'

Singers are needed to participate in the chorus for Handel's Classic "Messiah" to be performed at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16, at Trinity United Methodist Church.

Directors Charles Haraway and Walter "Chuck" Wilson will present their sixth collaboration bringing this beautiful work to the Sumter community.

"We have people from many different churches and others in the community willing to come together and sing. Everyone is welcome; there is no audition process," Haraway said.

"This musical offering will feature a chorus, string quartet, soloists, harpsichord and organ," added Wilson.

Rehearsals will be held 6:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, and Thursday, Dec. 13, as well as 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 223 W. Liberty St. Singers may enter the sanctuary via the Liberty Street parking lot.
