SARAH S. LOCKWOOD

MOUNT PLEASANT - Sarah Segars Lockwood, 95, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018, in Mount Pleasant. She was a resident of the Villages at Summerville for 14 years.

Born on July 31, 1922, at Camden, she was a daughter of the late Burrell Washington Segars and Edith Moore Segars. She was married to the late Col. Allison Lee Lockwood Jr. in Charleston. They lived in Mount Pleasant for many years, where they raised their daughters. They were members of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church. Sarah enjoyed her church activities, working in the yard and being with her family. She will be remembered for her kindness, love for her family and devotion to her Christian faith.

Sarah was predeceased by her husband; brothers, Frank Segars and Burrell Segars; and sisters, Ellen Rogerson and Anne Mason.

Sarah is survived by daughters, Jan Pollard (Joe) and Carole Hassell (Clai); along with six grandchildren, Sarah Long (Michael), Clai Hassell Jr., Katharine Hassell, Keven Pollard, Caroline Morris and Lock Pollard; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church, 302 Hibben St., Mount Pleasant, SC 29464.

Following the service, the family will receive friends in the fellowship hall. Burial will be private.
