SAM ARCHIE

Sam Archie, 69, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at the home of his sister in Rembert.

Born on Feb. 5, 1949, in Kershaw County, he was a son of the late Willie B. and Fannie McLeod Archie. He accepted Christ as his savior at an early age. "Bammie," as he was affectionately known, was a joy to be around.

He leaves to mourn his passing: his wife, Polly Archie; one daughter, Kim Archie; two sons, Sam Jr. and Booker T. Archie, all of Rochester, New York; three sisters, Fannie (Leroy) Robinson and Lelia Jenkins, both of Rembert, and Gladys Bolden of North Carolina; four brothers, Henry Archie, Harrison Mayrant and Willie Mayrant, all of Rembert, and Filton Mayrant of Dalzell; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; one aunt, Betty Watts of Rowland, North Carolina; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two special nephews, Patrick McLeod and Ralph Bradshaw; and a host of nieces, other nephews, family and friends.

The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 28 McLeod St., Rembert.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 N. Main St., Sumter, with Evangelist Michelle Robinson officiating, eulogist.

The funeral procession will leave at 10:20 a.m. from the home.

Burial will be in Rochester.
