ROOSEVELT CHAMPAGNE

Roosevelt "Shamp" Champagne was on Oct. 5, 1950, in Lee County, to the late Willie and Delia Spann Champagne. He was called home on Sunday, March 17, 2019.

Roosevelt was educated in the Lee County Public School District.

"Shamp" leaves to mourn his passing: four brothers, Bill Champagne and Ernest Lee Moses, both of Sumter, James Edward Moses of Bishopville and Bobby Gene Moses of Columbia; six sisters, Barbara Caldwell of Philadelphia, Connie Bell Robinson of Washington, D.C., Shirley Wactor of Sumter, Willie Bell Robinson and Wilhelmenia (James) Small, both of Bishopville, and Mary (Al) Stover of Columbia; a close family friend, Audrey Washington; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Champagne will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. on Saturday for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center, 101 S. Salem Ave., Sumter, SC 29150 with Pastor Richard Barr officiating. Interment will follow at Colclough Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home, 5235 Dale St., Sumter, SC 29153.

Job's Mortuary Inc., 312 S. Main St., Sumter, is in charge of arrangements.
