Richard Lee Faddis, 67, husband of Teresa Mink Faddis, died on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Palmetto Health Tuomey.

Born on March 10, 1951, in Baltimore, Maryland, he was a son of the late Robert Vernon Faddis and Iris Greene Faddis. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service. He was a Vietnam War veteran. He was a member of the DAV. Mr. Faddis was formerly employed by Inside-Out in Sumter and was currently employed by Charpy's Pool Service.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years; two children, Richard Lee Faddis Jr. (Susan) of Sumter and Melonie Faddis Schang (Tim) of Las Vegas; five grandchildren; three brothers, Jerry Faddis, Jack Faddis and James Faddis; and a sister, Jeannie Ridinger.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Vernon Faddis Jr.

A memorial service with full military honors will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Charles Ahtonen officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
