Man charged with breaking furniture, door with baseball bat

Robert L. Stevenson III, 18, of 1295 Shoreland Drive, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with malicious injury to property for allegedly using a baseball bat to break furniture and damage a door and wall while in the 960 block of Parsons Lane on May 7.

STOLEN PROPERTY

A black Craftsman push lawn mower valued at $500 was reportedly stolen from a residence in the 5600 block of Borden Road on Monday.

A 16-foot black dual-axle trailer with a single ramp was reportedly stolen from the lot of a business in the 1700 block of Stamey Livestock Road about 3 a.m. on Monday. According to an incident report from Sumter Police Department, approximately $500 in damage was caused to a fence on the property when a portion of the fence was cut.

A 16-inch gold necklace with diamond hearts valued at $1,000, an 18-inch gold necklace with a palmetto tree valued at $500, a 16-inch gold necklace with three diamonds valued at $1,000, a silver necklace with a horseshoe valued at $200, a gold cross necklace valued at $200, two chocolate diamond necklaces valued at $1,000, a pair of gold hoop earrings valued at $100, a round gold necklace valued at $500, three gold bracelets valued at $300, a .5-carat diamond necklace valued at $1,000, two pairs of diamond earrings valued at $600, an aquamarine gold necklace valued at $1,000, a gold wedding ring set valued at $2,000, a gold wedding band set valued at $100 and $300 in cash were reportedly stolen from a residence in the 600 block of Augustine Drive between June 9 and June 19.

A 2002 black-and-green Suzuki 600 GSX-R600 motorcycle with chrome wheels and a chrome frame, valued at $8,000, was reportedly stolen while parked at a residence in the 500 block of Kilgo Street between 8 p.m. on Sunday and 11 a.m. on Monday.

A black 1988 Chevrolet Monte Carlo valued at $8,900 was reportedly stolen while parked in the 2100 block of Alston Road, Rembert, between 9:30 a.m. and 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

A red Briggs & Stratton pressure washer valued at $575 was reportedly stolen from the bed of a 2017 Toyota Tacoma truck while it was parked at a hotel in the 2600 block of Broad Street on Tuesday.

A black 9mm Ruger LC9 handgun valued at $250 was reportedly stolen from a Grand Cherokee while parked in the 90 block of Trailwood Drive between 10 p.m. on Sunday and 5 a.m. on Monday.

A Dell computer monitor valued at $600 was reportedly stolen from a business in the 200 block of Dingle Street between Friday and Monday.

Approximately $760 was reportedly stolen from a wallet that was left at a store in the 1000 block of Broad Street between 4 and 5 p.m. on Tuesday. According to an incident report from Sumter Police Department, the victim stated all items except the money were inside the wallet when she returned to the store.

DAMAGED PROPERTY

Approximately $10,000 in damage was caused to a residence in the 500 block of South Main Street when an unknown amount of copper wiring was removed from the walls between June 5 and June 19.
