Man charged with domestic violence for 3rd time

David W. Charles, 54, of 714 S. Miller Road, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with first-degree domestic violence for allegedly hitting his girlfriend in the head with a closed fist and kicking her in the back while in the 600 block of South Harvin Street about 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday. According to an incident report from Sumter Police Department, Charles has two prior domestic violence convictions.

STOLEN PROPERTY

A black LG TV valued at $1,000 was reportedly stolen from a residence in the 1000 block of East Brewington Road between noon and 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

A black 2000 Chevrolet Silverado with no manufacturer markings, 20-inch rims with 35-inch mud tires, a low-profile tool box and chrome molding valued at $8,000 was reportedly stolen while parked in the 800 block of Watts Drive on Monday.

A black .380-caliber Cobra firearm valued at $200; a black-and-tan .762-caliber Century Arms firearm valued at $1,350; a black .357-caliber Rhino firearm valued at $950; a black-and-silver dual-folding knife, unknown make, valued at $30; a black Ka-Bar knife valued at $100; a silver .410-caliber Taurus Judge firearm valued at $800; and a black 12-gauge Panther pump-action firearm valued at $600 were reportedly stolen from a residence in the 1000 block of Babette Road between 11:30 p.m. on Monday and 1 a.m. on Tuesday.

Twelve golf clubs, with black and red Dri-Tac grips inside of a blue Titleist tote bag were reportedly stolen from a black GMC Sierra truck while parked at a residence in the 60 block of Alice Drive between June 3 and 13.

A brown 2015 Kia Optima valued at $15,000 was reportedly stolen while parked at a residence in the one block of Broad Street between 3 and 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
