Allen G. Williams Jr., 48, of 12 S. Magnolia St., was arrested on Monday and charged with pointing and presenting a firearm for allegedly pointing a firearm at another man at North Lafayette and Victory drives about 7:20 p.m. that day. According to an incident report from Sumter Police Department, officers retrieved a black Judge handgun from Williams' bedroom closet. Williams told officers that he was not allowed to possess a firearm and that the handgun belonged to another person who left the weapon inside his vehicle two years ago.
A water heater, unknown make, valued at $500; two bathroom sinks valued at $1,000; a kitchen sink valued at $500; approximately $1,000 in copper wiring; and an exterior air-conditioning unit valued at $4,000 were reportedly stolen from a residence in the 800 block of Barwick Road between Feb. 7 and April 7. Approximately $3,000 in damage was also caused to the interior walls of the residence and the breaker box, according to an incident report from Sumter Police Department.
A black 18-foot 2016 Big Tex 14ET trailer valued at about $5,800 was reportedly stolen from a site in the 800 block of South Guignard Drive between 3 p.m. on Friday and 7:30 a.m. on Saturday. Approximately $400 in damage was caused to a chain-link fence on the site when the fence was cut, states an incident report from Sumter Police Department.

An air-conditioning unit, unknown make, valued at $2,000 and miscellaneous household appliances - unknown quantity, type and make - valued at $1,500 were reportedly stolen from a vacant and foreclosed residence on Curtiswood Avenue between Jan. 1 and April 10.
A black 2006 Ford F-150 sustained approximately $1,500 in damage when the driver's side door and tailgate were dented and the passenger's side was scratched while the truck was parked at a residence in the 2400 block of Pipkin Road on Saturday.
The owner of a vehicle service center in the 500 block of West Liberty Street reported $400 in damage and stolen fuel after gasoline was taken from five vehicles parked at the business and a fuel line of one of the vehicles was cut between noon on Saturday and 9 a.m. on Sunday. The owner also told officers that petroleum jelly was smeared on the windows and dashboards of two of the vehicles, according to an incident report from Sumter Police Department.
