"Meet the Candidates Reception" to be held this evening

Rembert Area Community Coalition will hold summer camp for ages 3 1/2 to 12 years old from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, June 11-July 20, at the Rembert Youth Center (behind Rembert Car Wash), 20 Horatio-Hagood Road, Rembert. A "Meet the Candidates Reception" for candidates in the 5th Congressional District, House District 64, Sumter County Council District 2 and District 6, sponsored by the Sumter Branch NAACP and League of Women Voters of Sumter County, will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m. today at Central Carolina Technical College, 506 N. The Par 4 Pets Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, June 9, at Crystal Lakes Golf Course. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Format is 4-Man Captain's Choice with entry fee of $160 per team ($40 per player). Entry limited to first 20 teams. The senior group of the Mayesville Community Center will hold a fundraiser with raffle from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, at the Community Center, 55 Pringle St., Mayesville. Food available for purchase will include fried fish, hot dogs, French fries and drinks. There will also be slightly used clothing items for sale. Raffle tickets are $1 each and raffle prizes are: $50 gift card for first place; floor fan for second place; and household items basket for third place.
