Mary Cockerill Hodge, 86, widow of Ollie Huggins Hodge, died on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.

Born on Oct. 2, 1931, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Ceasar DuPree Cockerill and Gaynell Davis Cockerill. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church. She retired from Sumter County Family Court. Mrs. Hodge and her husband owned and operated Hodges Country Store and a poultry farm.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Sarah L. Moore (David) of Hurst, Texas; and special relatives, Bill Hodge Jr. (Gwen), Bill Hodge III (Tiffany), Eldridge Davis (Sharon), Cheryl Bruce, Joe Canty, Norman Hodge and Harmon Hodge.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas D. Cockerill.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at Providence Baptist Church with Lead Pastor Pat Coffey, the Rev. Dr. Harold Greene and Ministerial Assistant Wayne McElveen officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home, 2350 Old Manning Road.
