MANNING - A 62-year-old Manning man has been arrested on two felony charges after a wreck shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday that resulted in the death of a 77-year-old Manning man.

Anthony Lamonth Jones, the driver of a 2001 Ford four-door vehicle, was charged with felony driving under the influence resulting in death and felony driving under the influence resulting in great bodily injury, according to Lance Cpl. Matt Southern with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Clarendon County Coroner Bucky Mock said that John Gorman "Jack" Eaddy, who was driving a 2013 Ford four-door vehicle, died from massive trauma less than three hours after the wreck at Trident Medical Center in Charleston.

According to Southern, Jones was traveling north on Raccoon Road when the vehicle he was driving ran off the right side of the roadway within the roundabout. Southern said Jones overcorrected and drove off the left side of the roadway, striking the concrete circle and then striking the vehicle driven by Eaddy, who was traveling east on Silver Road.

Mock said Eaddy was transported to McLeod Clarendon by ambulance and then airlifted to Trident Medical Center. Southern reported that Eaddy was not wearing a seatbelt. Southern said both Jones and a male passenger in his vehicle were transported by ambulance to McLeod Clarendon. The trooper said that neither Jones nor his passenger was wearing a seatbelt.

Southern said that South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Patrol's MAIT Team are continuing to investigate the wreck.

Jones is at Clarendon County Detention Center with a bond of $100,000.
