Man charged with allegedly pointing an AR-15 rifle at victim

CHARGES

Tyler D. Locklear, 28, of 5165 Seymour St., Dalzell, was arrested on Monday and charged with pointing and presenting a firearm after he allegedly pointed an AR-15 rifle at the victim and requested that she give him the $3,000 he said was stolen the night before. According to a news release from Sumter County Sheriff's Office, the incident happened in the 4200 block of Broad Street on Sunday.

Henry Taylor Jr., 34, of 4245 Cotton Road, Dalzell, was arrested on Monday and charged with malicious injury to personal property for allegedly knocking a computer off the desk in the medical office of Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center on Winkles Road on Oct. 6. According to a news release from Sumter County Sheriff's Office, approximately $2,000 or less in damage was done.

STOLEN PROPERTY

A silver .25-caliber Lorcin firearm valued at about $120 was reportedly stolen from a residence in the 1000 block of Vaughn Street between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

A .243-caliber Savage rifle with a Simmons scope valued at $500 was reportedly stolen from a residence in the 2300 block of Drexel Court, Dalzell about 2 p.m. on Saturday.

A 40-inch Magnavox flat-screen TV valued at $540 was reportedly stolen from a residence in the 3800 block of Artesian Drive about 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

A bench grinder valued at $50, a Lincoln Electric welder valued at $400 and a 26-gallon Craftsman air compressor valued at $500 were reportedly stolen from a residence in the 20 block of Vernon Drive between 11 a.m. on Sunday and 9 p.m. on Monday.

A black 5-foot-by-10-foot utility trailer with a wooden floor and metal gate, valued at $655, and a multiple pieces of lumber valued at $640 were reportedly stolen from a residence in the 1300 block of Salterstown Road between 8 p.m. on Tuesday and 6 a.m. on Wednesday.

A black 55-inch Samsung TV valued at $1,000; a black 60-inch Toshiba TV valued at $600; a black 55-inch Sanyo TV valued at $600; and $300 in cash were reportedly stolen from a residence in the 6300 block of Black River Road, Rembert, about 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Approximately $800 in cash was reportedly stolen from a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse while parked in the 2600 block of Pintail Drive between 7 p.m. on Sunday and 6:15 a.m. on Monday.

A black .380-caliber Smith & Wesson Bodyguard gun valued at $350 was reportedly stolen from a 2014 Dodge Ram while parked in the 200 block of Mallard Drive between 6 p.m. on Sunday and 9:30 a.m. on Monday.

Two Huffy bicycles, one purple and one blue, valued at $200 and a 50-foot extension cord valued at $30 were reportedly stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Woodlawn Avenue between midnight and 9 a.m. on Monday. According to an incident report from Sumter Police Department, a case containing $300 in CDs was reportedly stolen from a 2007 GMC Sierra while parked at the residence that same morning.

DAMAGED PROPERTY

Approximately $1,800 in damage was caused to a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu when the hood, trunk, fender and all four doors were damaged with a sharp object while the vehicle was parked in the 20 block of Althea Circle between 3 and 3:40 a.m. on Tuesday. According to an incident report from Sumter Police Department, two tires were slashed, resulting in about $300 in damage.
