Curfew for fireworks

would be appreciated

I strongly agree and fully support Norma Beck's opinion complaint in The Sumter Item on July 11, 2017, stating the city should set curfew for shooting fireworks. Many residents also dread to see New Year's Eve and July 4 come.

The extreme loudness lasts for nights and days, which is totally unfair for many residents, children and pets who suffer, including those who have to work the next day. A curfew will be greatly thanked and appreciated.

Trump setting stage for control of voting

Last week the new commission requested every single American's voting history, date of birth, last four numbers of your Social Security number and political party. Why? Because there is a president that did not win the popular vote. He is very angry; did not have his way and demands an investigation of all voters in the USA because of his fake allegation of fraudulent voting.

Is this the real reason for this request? Lying is now normal. It does not take a rocket scientist (which he belittles) to know he is setting the stage for complete control of voting and possibly massive purging.

My right to vote is sacred! Many people lost their lives for my ability to participate in the voting process. This is why we have the 15th and 19th Amendments, and the 1965 Voting Law.

"Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among nations." We serve one God.

Apparently, we have a god on earth that requires you to genuflect and demands your loyalty. He is a bully, rich, surrounded by wealthy people with total power. I refuse to bend, kiss his extended hand and pledge my loyalty. I have the right to vote with no interference. I hope there are others so challenged to wage a battle against this unjust action by our 45th president of this great country.
