Lessie Mae Harris, 86, widow of Jlynn Harris, departed this life on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, at Palmetto Health Richland, Columbia.

She was born on April 25, 1932, in Sumter, a daughter of the late Milow and Marie Johnson. She attended St. Michael School and was a lifelong member of St. Luke AME Church.

Lessie Mae leaves to cherish her memories: three daughters, Tonie H. (John) Jennings, Darriell Harris and Rose Marie Harris Cato; a sister, Lillaween Wright; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Johnson; three brothers, Milo, Sammie and James Johnson; and two sisters, Annabell Anderson and Mary Johnson.

Public viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Job's Mortuary.

Mrs. Harris will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. on Wednesday for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at St. Luke AME Church, 2355 N. St. Pauls Church Road, Sumter, with Pastor George Brown, eulogist, and the Rev. Eliza E. Black officiating. Interment will follow at St. Luke AME Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at 1870 Amberwood Drive, Sumter, SC 29150.
