KAY CRESS
Kay Cress, age 83, beloved wife of the late Larry Royce Cress, died on Monday, Oct. 15, 2018.
Born in Pound, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Willie and Bertha Wright Church. Kay was a woman of strong faith. She was a longtime member of Shaw Heights Baptist Church, where she was a founding member of the Young at Heart Group and the Awana Groups. Kay relied deeply on her faith as she was a cancer survivor. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her family and friends. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and sister. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are a daughter, Tina Cress of Sumter; one brother, Rogers Church of North Myrtle Beach; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Ilsa Cress of Apple Valley, California.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Cress; four brothers; and two sisters.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob White officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon at Bullock Funeral Home.
