JOHN W. GLISSON JR.

Posted

John W. Glisson Jr. was born on Aug. 29, 1931, in Sumter, to the late Johnnie Glisson Sr. and Elise Smith-Glisson. He was educated in the Sumter County public school system. As a child, John attended Enon Missionary Baptist Church in Sumter. John relocated to New York, where he met and was joined in holy matrimony to Inozia Henry in 1957. This union brought forth one child, Jennie Glisson. In 1975, he gave his life to the Lord and became a faithful deacon and served the Lord with a passion. John was multi-talented and an honest and hard worker. His chosen profession was truck driving. Due to issues, John later relocated to South Carolina.

He departed this earthly life on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018.

John leaves to cherish his fond memories: his daughter, Jennie Glisson of New Jersey; sister, Ellen Coleman; brother, James L. Glisson of South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
