Jimmie Nathaniel Jr., affectionately known as "Spur" to those who knew him, was born on Jan. 2, 1956, in Sumter County, a son of Bertie Lou McFadden and the late Jimmie Nathaniel Sr. Jimmie departed this life on Friday, July 6, 2018, at Palmetto Health Tuomey.

He attended the public schools of Sumter County. He was employed by Santee Print for 17 years, and he was also an entrepreneur. He never met a stranger and really enjoyed spending time with his family. His passion was detailing cars.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Bertie Lou Thomas; two sons, Antonnial Davis and Johnquel Ford, both of Sumter; one granddaughter, M'Riyah Davis of Sumter; five brothers, Leo Williams and Ceasar Williams Jr., both of Kingstree, Perry (Sharon) Moten and Joe Moten, both of Sumter, and Eric (Monica) Moten of Florence; eight sisters, Maxine (Isaac) Ludd, Helene Mobley, Maxine Witherspoon, Gale Player, Audrey (Van) Maple, Kim (Vic) Wilson and Jamelia Abrams, all of Sumter, and Delores (Winston) Hall of Baltimore; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Winifred Nathaniel.

Public viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Nathaniel will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. on Saturday for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Olden Chapel Union Methodist Episcopal Church, 189 Hoyt St., Sumter, with Pastor Joseph Watkins Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Walker Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Helene Mobley, 204 S. Guignard Drive, Sumter, SC 29150.

Job's Mortuary Inc., 312 S. Main St., Sumter, is in charge of arrangements.
