JERRY LAVERNE ARRANTS

Jerry Laverne "Red" Arrants, 78, husband of Bobbie Ann "Pat" McLeod Arrants, passed away on Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, at Palmetto Health Tuomey.

Born on Jan. 15, 1940, in Lee County, he was a son of the late Ralph Whitney Arrants Sr. and Inez Johnson Arrants. Mr. Arrants retired from SIFCO Mechanical after 48 years of service. "Pop," as he was known to his closest family, loved spending time with his son and grandson watching a good old Western but, even more, he enjoyed his time with his great-granddaughter, Bailee. She brought him so much joy. Although he was a little rough around the edges, "Pop" had the biggest heart of any man you could have the pleasure of knowing. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him. "Thy Will be done " Matthew 6:10.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years; one son, Dale Arrants (Christy); one grandson, Chad Arrants (Victoria); a great-granddaughter, Bailee; four sisters; and one brother.

He was preceded in death by one sister.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Bennie Barwick officiating.

The family will receive friends at the home, 10 Chatwick Court.
