Jerry Eugene Cromer Sr., 82, widower of Billie Faye Hayes Cromer, died Thursday, May 16, 2019, at McLeod Health Hospital in Florence.

Born in Charleston, he was a son of the late William Lawrence Cromer Sr. and Beulah Jackson Cromer.

Mr. Cromer was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Edmunds High School and a U.S. Army veteran. He was the former owner and operator of Cromer's Appliance.

Surviving are two sons, Jerry Eugene Cromer Jr. of the home and Perron (Nancy) Cromer of Sumter; a brother, William Lawrence Cromer Jr. (Earline) of Sumter; four grandchildren, Nancy Hayes Owens (Ansel), Virginia Cromer, Perrin Marie Cromer and Rebecca Cromer, all of Sumter; one great-grandchild, Addison Pruitt Owens; two nephews, Patrick Cromer (Melissa) and Larry Cromer (Debbie) of Sumter; and a number of other special nephews and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Bower officiating.

The family will receive friends following the graveside services and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Perron Cromer, 10 Pathfinder Drive, Sumter.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
