DALZELL - Jennie Watford Nelson Cook, age 75, widow of Douglas Ray Cook, died peacefully on Monday, Oct. 1, 2018, at her home.

Born on Dec. 21, 1942, in Lamar, she was a daughter of the late Luther Wesley and Jeddie Vaughan Watford. Mrs. Cook was a member of Covenant Bible Church. She loved working in her yard tending to her flowers and had a passion for sewing and wedding planning.

Survivors include her two sisters, Burton Watford Robinson and Jackie Watford Hinson of Bladenboro, North Carolina; her three daughters, Cindy Nelson Dolan and husband, Rick, of Lexington, Laura Nelson Halferty and her husband, Richard, of Sumter and Brenda Nelson Stanley and her husband, Barry, of Sumter; four stepchildren, Brian Cook and his wife, Sally, of Goodyear, Arizona, Phelecia Cook Gyder of Peoria, Arizona, Angela Cook of Phoenix, Kathleen Fernandez and Michael Hayes of Bishopville; grandchildren, Christina Dolan Stipp and her husband, Bradley, Caroline and McKenzie Dolan, Kenneth, William and Elizabeth Goff, Rachel, Amanda and Phillip Halferty and his wife, Carrie, Baxter, Logan and Colt Stanley, and Johnny Hamilton and his wife, Charlotte; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at Bullock Funeral Home Chapel in Sumter with the Rev. Jim Tuggle officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Bullock Funeral Home.
