FLORENCE - Drake Ives had a big game in the circle and at the plate in Wilson Hall's 16-0 varsity softball victory over Florence Christian School on Tuesday at the FCS field.

Ives was 3-for-4 at the plate with a 2-run home run, five runs batted in and two runs scored. She struck out six and allowed just one hit.

Kathryn Sistare went 3-for-3 with a double, two RBI and two runs. Sydney Jarecki had two hits, including an RBI double, while Becka Noyes had two hits, an RBI and two runs. Madison Elmore scored three runs and Amelia Weston and Camryn Bateman both scored two runs.

The Lady Barons are 14-8 overall and 2-0 in SCISA Region II-3A.

East Clarendon 6

Lake View 1

TURBEVILLE - East Clarendon High School remained undefeated in Region VI-1A with a 6-1 win over Lake View on Tuesday at the EC field.

Marleigh Floyd got the win for the Lady Wolverines, 13-5 overall and 8-0 in region play. She scattered five hits and allowed one unearned run while striking out two and walking one.

Abby Reardon led the East Clarendon offense, going 2-for-2 with a sacrifice fly and five runs batted in. Gracen Watts had a hit, an RBI and scored runs.

St. John's Christian 5

Clarendon Hall 4

MONCKS CORNER - Clarendon Hall dropped to 4-5 in SCISA Region III-1A with a 5-4 loss to St. John's Christian on Tuesday at the SJC field.

Sydney Wells led the 9-7 Lady Saints offensively, going 3-for-4 with a double and a triple. Bailey Corbett and Lauren Pifer both went 2-for-4.

West Florence 6

Sumter 3

Sumter lost to West Florence 6-3 on Tuesday at the SHS field.

Josie Self had three hits and an RBI to lead the Lady Gamecock offense. Anna Copeland and Erin McCaffrey both had two hits, Kadyn Dickerson had a hit and an RBI while Morgan Berry had a triple and scored a run.

Berry also pitched four shutout innings.

On Monday in Sumter, SHS lost to Conway 9-5. Copeland had two hits and an RBI, McCaffrey had a hit and two RBI, and Berry had a hit and two runs.

VARSITY SOCCER

Carolina Forest 6

Sumter 0

MYRTLE BEACH - Sumter fell to 2-5 in Region VI-5A with a 6-0 loss to Carolina Forest on Tuesday at the CF field.

The Lady Gamecocks are 5-6 overall.

Darlington 2

Lakewood 1

Lakewood lost to Darlington 2-1 on Tuesday at J. Frank Baker Stadium.

Emily Cadena scored the Lady Gators' goal on an assist from Monet Reevey.

VARSITY TRACK AND FIELD

SHS, LHS, SB finish 3-5

Sumter, Lakewood and Scott's Branch finished third through fifth, respectively, in a 6-team meet on Tuesday at Memorial Stadium.

West Florence won with 144 points followed by South Florence with 120. SHS had 112, LHS 71, SB 68 and Calhoun County 2.

Individual winners for the Lady Gamecocks were Kayla Greene in the 400-meter dash, MacKenzi Zimmerman in the 3,200 run and Carolyn Alan in the pole vault.

For Lakewood, winners were LaShayla Harvin in the high jump, Zaria Stephens in the long jump, Amiyan Pinkney in the discus and the 4x100 relay team of Stephens, Ziyan Gipson, Harvin and Traviah Benefield.

Winners for Scott's Branch were Paulette Wimberly in the 100, Mary Wimberly in the 1,600, Amber Johnson in the 100 hurdles, Chaniya Monroe in the shot put and the 4x400 relay team.

Althea Vicete scored the goal for the Lady Gamecocks on an assist from Camden Brooks.

Crestwood 3

Lakewood defeated Crestwood 11-3 on Tuesday at the LHS field.

Jillian Lynch led the Lady Gators, going 2-for-3 with a homer and four RBI. She also pitched three innings to get the win.

Gracie Gainey was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

West Florence 19

Sumter 2

Sumter lost to West Florence 19-2 on Tuesday at the SHS field.

Kailin Hodge led the Lady Gamecocks with one hit.
