Sumter County Sheriff's Office arrested a husband and wife on Tuesday for separate charges in connection with neglect of a vulnerable adult.
According to a news release from the sheriff's office, Barbara Ann Wright, 56, of 2110 Rose Drive, is charged with exploitation of a vulnerable adult for allegedly using the victim's bank account without the victim's consent between January and March. Bank records show various transactions and withdrawals made without the victim's consent, states the release.
The victim is described as a 65-year-old developmentally vulnerable woman.
Robie Wright, 58, of the same address, is charged with third degree criminal sexual conduct after he allegedly sexually assaulted the victim between Nov. 1, 2014, and March 2016, according to a warrant that was issued on July 28.
