GLORIA A. LEMOS

Gloria Ann Elliott Lemos, 71, was born April 29, 1946 in Royston, Georgia, to the late Richard F. and Maxine Brown Elliott.

She joined the Coca Cola Co. in Atlanta in 1967 as secretary and became vice president in charge of international affairs in their Washington, D.C., office in the 1970s and 1980s, traveling extensively to Cokes affiliates in more than 155 countries.

She was the assistant to the chairman of the board of Coca Cola Worldwide and was instrumental in introducing Coke to Russia and China. Ms. Lemos participated in a number of organizational board meetings with universities and charities in D.C.. She was in the Social List of D.C. (The Green Book) as late as 1990 and was also listed in "Who's Who in America."

Ms. Lemos retired to St. Simons Island, Georgia, in 1991 and then moved to Pinewood, South Carolina, to help take care of her father in 2004.

Ms. Lemos made her transition from this life on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018 in Sumter.

She is greatly missed by her son, his wife and her three grandchildren, ages 15, 13 and 7, of St. Augustine, Florida, as well as her two sisters and brother of Pinewood.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
