GENE H. WEATHERLY

WEDGEFIELD - Gene Harold Weatherly, 78, husband of Joyce Foxworth Weatherly, died on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018, at his home.

Born on April 12, 1940, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Erasmus A. and Tannie Singleton Weatherly. He attended Alice Drive Baptist Church and retired from Carolina Furniture Works after 40 years of service.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years; a daughter, Gayle Weatherly Miles (Swain); two grandchildren, Cristin Coleman (Josh) and McSwain Miles (Natalie); two great-grandchildren, Caroline Coleman and Taylor Coleman; and a sister, Lillian Weatherly Revenaugh.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ervin Weatherly, Robert Weatherly and Hubert A. Weatherly; and a sister, Helen Weatherly McGee.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Clay Smith, the Rev. Al Sims and Bobby Richardson officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Swain Miles, McSwain Miles, Josh Coleman, Harwood Weatherly Jr., Abel Vasquez and Randy Simpson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cray Weeks, David Dreier, Don Windham, Pete Mixon, Dan Lyles and Norman Partin.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
