Fugitive from justice arrested

Willie C. Glover, 40, of 1920 Mason Road, Unit 13A, Dalzell, was arrested Aug. 14 for being a fugitive from justice. According to a news release from Sumter County Sheriff's Office, Glover allegedly fled from the northeast area of New York to avoid prosecution for a parole violation.

Xavier J. Ballard, 25, of 55 Ideal Circle Mobile Home Park, Lot 36, was arrested on July 23 and charged with first-degree burglary and first-degree domestic violence for allegedly kicking in the back door of a residence in the 50 block of Ideal Circle and strangling the victim on July 22.

STOLEN PROPERTY

A white 2015 Toyota Camry valued at $22,000 was reportedly stolen while parked in the 80 block of Sally Street, Wedgefield, about 9:30 a.m. Aug. 12.

A white-and-tan 2006 Ford F350 valued at $22,000 was reportedly stolen while parked in the 3100 block of Broad Street between 10 a.m. Aug. 12 and 2:20 p.m. Aug. 13.

A brown .30 caliber rifle, unknown make and model, valued at $150; a brown 12-gauge shotgun, unknown make and model, valued at $150; and $326 in checks were reportedly stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Serenity Circle, Mayesville, between noon and 1 p.m. Aug. 12.

Two Troy-Bilt weed trimmers valued at $200; a Yard Machine gas-powered edger valued at $200; a 54-inch orange-and-black Husqvarna zero-turn lawnmower valued at $3,000; and a black 4-foot-by-8-foot utility trailer with a mesh floor and gate valued at $1,000 were reportedly stolen from a church in the 835 block of Plowden Mill Road about 2 p.m. Wednesday.

A black Samsung TV valued at $800; a black Element TV valued at $297 and approximately 250 Metformin pills valued at $30 were reportedly stolen from a residence in the 1600 block of London Road about 4 p.m. on Thursday.
