ERNEST G. WILLIAMS

Ernest Grant Williams, 58, husband of Eartha Lee Williams and son of the late John and Rebecca G. Williams, was born on Feb. 27, 1960, in Sumter.

He departed this life on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence.

He attended the local public schools. He was employed by Gold Kist and later by Carolina Furniture Works.

Ernest leaves to cherish his fond memories his wife, Eartha Lee Williams; five sisters, Shirley Mae Williams, Mattie Rembert, Janie Jones, Vickie W. James and Shana W. Woods; four brothers, Albert Williams, James Williams, Edward Williams and John Green; a brother-in-law, Sammie Dinkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother.

Public viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Monday at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Williams will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. on Tuesday for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center, 101 S. Salem Ave. in Sumter, with pastor Ricky Simmons officiating.

Interment will follow in Walker Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at 1009 White Horse St. in Sumter.

Job's Mortuary Inc., 312 S. Main St., is in charge of arrangements.
