ERNEST ALLEN WELCH

Ernest "Ernie" Allen Welch, 53, husband of the late Wanda R. Welch, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, at his home.

Born on Aug. 8, 1965, in Sumter, he was a son of Charles D. Welch Sr. and Grettis Grooms Welch. He was a member of New Calvary Baptist Church and was the owner of Welch's Electrical Co.

Survivors include his parents of Sumter; two brothers, Charles D. "Chuck" Welch Jr. (Kim) of Sumter and Mark J. Welch of Dalzell; a sister, Linda Holliday (Mike) of Sumter; nieces and nephews, Lindsey Hayden, John Ammons, Jessica Ammons, Brooke Staniec, Caitlin Prince and Cody Welch; great-niece, Henley Hayden; and great-nephew, Jason Michael Staniec.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dr. David Richardson and the Rev. Ron Underwood officiating. Burial will be at Springvale Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Monday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
