Era Mae Stone Caplinger, 97, widow of Dennis Winters Caplinger, died on Monday, March 12, 2018, at her home.
Born on Sept. 1, 1920, in Pamplico, she was a daughter of the late Russell Corbett Stone and the late Eula Poston Stone.

Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Corbett (Wayne) of Columbia and Nancy Hunt of Sumter; five grandchildren, Jill Hills (Stacy), Chris Corbett (Sarah), Dennis Forest (Amelia), Richard Forest and Brandice Choi (Bruce); five great-grandchildren, Faith Hills, Joy Hills, Junah Corbett, Augustus Corbett and Evin Zakrzewski; two brothers, Jay Stone (Elaine) and Carol Stone (Donna), all of Florence; and two sisters, Verda Heritage of Ladson and Russ Lindbergh of Goose Creek.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with her nephew, the Rev. Randy Stone, officiating.
