Donnie L. McKamey, age 80, beloved husband of Barbara Boykin McKamey, died on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, at Palmetto Health Tuomey in Sumter.

Born in Oliver Springs, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Charlie W. McKamey and Mary Inez Clough McKamey. Mr. McKamey graduated from Oliver Springs High School in Eastern Tennessee in 1956 where he participated in all sports. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Air Force, from which he retired in 1976. After his retirement from the Air Force, Donnie went to work for Diebold. He retired from Diebold in 2000. Donnie loved to fish, and he sang with the Mission to Men Group. He was a faithful member of Hickory Road Baptist Church. He will be remembered as a very loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are: a son, Darrell L. McKamey of Sumter; two daughters, Sherri L. Clark and her husband, Danny, of Easley, and Kimberly M. Johnson of Sumter; two stepsons, Jerald Martin and John P. Martin, both of Sumter; one stepdaughter, Dawn D. Bell of Sumter; one brother, Gleason W. McKamey of Largo, Florida; one sister, Charlene Jovbe of Oliver Springs, Tennessee; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Donnie was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Vann McKamey; second wife, Catherine Reilly Martin McKamey; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Clark.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ron Taylor officiating. Interment will take place immediately following the service in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bullock Funeral Home.
