DONALD L. BOWEN
Donald L. Bowen, 66, husband of Lynn D. Bowen, died on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at his home.
Born on Jan. 29, 1952, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Harold and Virginia Coleman Bowen. He was a member of Sumter First Church of the Nazarene. He retired from the Sumter County Sheriff's Office after 37 years of service.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years; six children, Danny Bowen (Trish) of Sumter, Donnie Bowen (Erica) of Ohio, Wayne Azevedo, Lee Azevedo (Becca), Michelle Judy (Terry) and Tammy Bruton (David); 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Johnny L. Bowen (Debbie) of Sumter; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie L. Bowen; and a sister, Sandra K. Bowen Branham.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. today at Sumter First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Greg Pressley officiating. Burial with Sheriff's Office honors will be at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:30 a.m. today at Sumter First Church of the Nazarene and other times at the home.
