District spending more to solve its problems

Posted

Sumter School District was over budget by $6,200,000 for the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2016. This was just recently revealed by an independent audit report.

So what does the Sumter School Board of Trustees do? They plan on spending more money by hiring additional personnel to assist the District Finance Department. The proper response should be to replace the district superintendent and replace or transfer the personnel in the finance department. Only government spends more money to try to solve an over expenditure of taxpayers' monies. Is anyone ever held accountable?
