Demolition of the Red Barn on Manning City Council agenda

MANNING - Demolition of the Red Barn and an agreement to establish a public access channel are two topics up for discussion at Manning City Council's meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The agenda lists two presentations. Mayor Julia Nelson will make one presentation to the Farm to Table Committee while Robert Thompson Jr., the city's IT representative, will make another presentation concerning the city's technology improvements.

Under new business, council members will consider an ordinance relating to the recovery of the collection costs from delinquent debts and an ordinance to amend the city's zoning ordinances relating to Educational Services. Council members will also consider a resolution that would authorize the Municipal Association of South Carolina to act as the Claimant Agency for the collection of debts on behalf of the city's Municipal Court.

Council will consider the approval of a $7,500 bid by JMEC Construction to demolish the Red Barn as well as the approval of an agreement between Manning, Farmers Telephone Cooperative and the Clarendon County Neighborhood Network to establish a public access channel.

There is no executive session on the agenda.
