Clarendon Hall 5th-grader wins co-op's contest

SUMMERTON - Clarendon Hall fifth-grader Dhara Patel won the Santee Electric Cooperative Christmas Card Contest.

The contest was open to fourth- and fifth-grade students throughout 50 schools in South Carolina. Patel received a $50 prize, and Clarendon Hall art teacher Tammy Cogdill received $100 from SEC for the arts program at the school.

Headmaster Phillip Rizzo Jr. said, "I am very proud of Dhara and our art department at Clarendon Hall. She competed with hundreds of students, and having her selected as a winner is a testament to our vision of having well-rounded students who excel in academics, arts and athletics. I appreciate Santee Electric Cooperative's support of Clarendon Hall, education and the arts."
