Clara Elizabeth Campbell Reed, age 84, beloved wife of the late David Kenneth Reed, died on Sunday, May 20, 2018, at her residence.

Born in Swords Creek, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Hobson and Lola Mae Jamison Campbell. Affectionately known by her family as "Missy," she was a wonderful mother and grandmother and welcomed everyone equally into her home. She was a wonderful companion to her late husband for more than 50 years, traveling with him and the military enjoying all the benefits of visiting and living abroad. Clara was a gifted quilter and loved to share her gifts and talents with others. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Surviving are one son, John David Reed and his wife, Dawn, of Lynchburg, Virginia; one daughter, Margaret Reed Edwards of Sumter; one brother, Harry R. Campbell and his wife, Francis, of Woodbridge, Virginia; four grandchildren, William Reed, Kelsey Reed, McKinley Edwards and Harrison Edwards; a former son-in-law, Tracy Edwards; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Guy Campbell, Ralph Campbell and Millard Campbell; and two sisters, Dorothy Lucas and Helen Miser.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Calvin Snelgrove officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bullock Funeral Home.
