Caroll Ramsey, 68, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, at Palmetto Health Richland, Columbia.

She was born on Sept. 6, 1950, in Brooklyn, New York. Caroll was one of five children born to the late Joseph and Rosalee Ramsey. She spent most of her childhood in Brooklyn, where she attended Eli Whitney Technical High School and graduated with the Class of 1968. After graduating, she pursued her studies in business administration and management at Pace University. While in high school, Caroll earned an internship to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Through her strong work ethic and professionalism, she was offered a position that developed into a career. She retired with 40 years of full time service in 2009 as the executive assistant to the vice president of money markets. In 2009, Caroll retired and moved to Sumter, where she became the church secretary at Unionville AME Church.

She leaves to mourn her passing: her children, Brian (Nasim), Alan (Cherese) and Chavon (Levon); four grandchildren; her siblings, Al and RoseMary; her partner, Nathan Carter; a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, Unionville AME Church family, Mount Sinai Cathedral GOGIC family, other extended family and friends.

The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 90 Radcliff Drive, Sumter.

Funeral services will be held at noon today at Unionville AME Church, 1330 Swimming Pen Road, Mayesville, with the Rev. Alvin E. Webb, pastor, eulogist.

The remains will be placed in the church at 11 a.m.

The funeral procession will leave at 11:30 a.m. from the home.

Burial will be at Steven Grove Cemetery, Pembroke, Georgia.
