BETTY JEAN ROBINSON

Betty Jean Robinson, 65, was called home to rest in the arms of her loving Savior on Monday morning, July 9, 2018, at Palmetto Health Tuomey.

Born on June 4, 1953, in Sumter County, she was a daughter of Edmonia Wade and the late Melton Bland Wade. She was a 1972 graduate of Hillcrest High School and furthered her education at Central Carolina Technical College, majoring in early childhood education. Betty was employed for many years with Sumter School District 2. At an early age, Betty accepted Christ, was baptized and became a faithful member of Rafting Creek Baptist Church, where she was a longtime member of the musical choir and acting member of the pastor's aid ministry.

Betty was married to Thomas Calvin Robinson Sr. and from this union God blessed them with three children.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her mother, Edmonia Wade; two daughters, LaTeacha Fulton (Wesley) of Lugoff and Minister LaKeanlya McNeill of the home; a daughter she raised as her own, Harmony (Brian) Gadson-Alston of Sumter; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four brothers, James (Mary) Weathers of Delaware, Maryland, Robert (Tonya) Weathers of Chester, Pennsylvania, Benny (Mary) Weathers of Camden and Bland (Hattie) Wade of Dalzell; four sisters, Eula Mae Weathers and Maria Weathers, both of Chester, Pennsylvania, Ineather Mack of Rembert and Lottie (Leo) Jones of Sumter; a host of other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 6260 Dinkins Mill Road, Rembert.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Rafting Creek Baptist Church, 3860 S.C. 261 North, Rembert, with the Rev. Melvin Mack, pastor, eulogist.

The remains will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.

The funeral procession will leave at 1:20 p.m. from the home.

Burial will be at Rafting Creek Baptist Churchyard cemetery.
