COLUMBIA - Wilson Hall saw its football season come to an end with a 37-0 loss to Hammond in the quarterfinals of the SCISA 3A state playoffs on Friday at the Hammond field.

The Barons finished the season with a 3-7 record.

They trailed the undefeated Skyhawks just 7-0 with five minutes remaining in the first half. However, Hammond got two touchdowns from Jordan Burch in the final 4:30 of the half to take a 21-0 lead.

Hammond will play host to Cardinal Newman in the semifinals.

Hilton Head Prep 26

HARDEEVILLE - Robert E. Lee defeated Hilton Head Prep 39-26 in the quarterfinals of the SCISA 2A state playoffs on Friday at Richard Gray Sports Complex.

REL will be on the road against John Paul II in the semifinals next Friday. John Paul II defeated Greenwood Christian 28-14 in a quarterfinal game.

Jett Smith tossed two touchdown passes to lead the Cavaliers, who improved to 8-3 on the season.

HHP finished the year with a 4-6 record.

Thomas Sumter 20

RIDGELAND - Thomas Sumter Academy saw its season come to an end with a 70-20 loss to Thomas Heyward in the quarterfinals of the SCISA 1A state playoffs on Friday at the THA field.

Jarrett Poole scored two touchdowns for the Generals, who finish the season at 2-8. He scored on runs of 1 and 13 yards. Landen Rose had a 16-yard run, and Matthew Dailey kicked two extra points.

Scott's Branch 42

Military Magnet 20

SUMMERTON - Scott's Branch High School closed out its regular season with a 42-20 victory over Military Magnet on Senior Night on Friday at Earnest Spann Stadium.

Kendrick Lesesne, Sean Swaringer, Levontae Fleming and Treyshawn Moore each scored touchdowns for the Eagles.

Scott's Branch, which is 3-7, will play at Hemingway in the first round of the 1A state playoffs next Friday.
