4 armed robberies could be connected

Sumter Police Department investigators think the suspects involved in recent armed robberies at three South Sumter barbershops may be connected with a liquor store robbery that took place on Wednesday afternoon.

Tonyia McGirt, public information officer for the police department, said two men entered Rollerson Package Store at 310 Manning Ave. after 3 p.m. on Wednesday and took an undetermined amount of items. 

She said the incident is being investigated as an armed robbery. More information will be made available when it is released.
