Police investigating fatal shooting of 21-year-old man

Sumter Police are investigating the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Westly Jacquan Davis of 526 Dingle St.

Officers were called to Tuomey Regional Medical Center at about
1:37 p.m. today related to Davis being brought to the emergency room with a gunshot wound to the upper body. He later died of the injury. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
Circumstances surrounding the shooting are unclear at this time.
Sumter Police Department detectives are continuing to investigate.
