2 being treated for gunshot wounds in Sumter

Two men in their early 20s sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds while reportedly walking near the intersection of Short Street and Carolina Avenue about 1:30 p.m. on Friday, according to Sumter Police Department.

The two men — ages 24 and 26 — are being treated at Palmetto Health Tuomey. A news release from the police department states that a preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting was an isolated incident.
