Club Digest: June 11, 2017



The chapter hosted Nu Master chapter for the 2017 Founders Day celebration held at the Second Mill Restaurant on April 27. Woman of the Year awards were announced as Beverly Phillips from Xi Eta and Mary Ann Clark from Nu Master.

A special Golden Circle ceremony was held to honor Beverly Phillips for her 50 years in Beta Sigma Phi. LuAnn Richardson of Xi Beta and Barbara Smith of Nu Master presented highlights of the sorority's year. The 2017-18 theme for Beta Sigma Phi International was announced to be "In Touch with Tomorrow."

Xi Eta held a belated St. Patrick's Day Potato/Tax party at the home of Marian Downing. On April 16 at the home of Heide Johnson, elections were held for 2017-18. Officers for the new year are LuAnn Richardson, president; Irene LePage, vice president; Lorena Pate, secretary; and Heide Johnson, treasurer.

Rituals were presented to Lorena Pate (Ritual of Jewels Degree) and Heide Johnson (Masters degree) at the March 21 meeting at the home of Connie Suitt. Members donated non-perishable food items for donation to Christian Charities.

The February meeting was held at the home of Marian Downing, who presented the cultural program, a poem from Torch magazine titled "When I See My Sisters."
