GREGORY ALLEN HOOTON

Gregory Allen Hooton, 66, died Friday, May 3, 2024, at his home.
Born Oct. 1, 1957, in Sylvania, Ohio, he was a son of the late Everette E. Hooton and Alice Brown Hooton. He worked as a pipe fitter in the naval shipyard and later worked with Caterpillar Corp. He enjoyed attending events at the American Legion Post 15.
Survivors include one son, Jared Hooton of Ohio; three grandchildren, Nikolai Hooton, Jared Hooton Jr. and Kayla Hooton; three brothers, Denny Leedy, Kevin Hooton and Gary Hooton, all of Ohio; and three sisters, Wanda Baehr (James) of Sumter, Tammy Tyburski (Dave) and Heidie Wiehe (Tom) both of Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Courtney Hooton; and a brother, Mike Hooton.
Services will be private.
Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
